Our latest short film "THE BUTTERFLY CIRCUS" was produced for a film competition called the Doorpost Film Project and is one of 10 films competing for a GRAND PRIZE of $100,000. It is a 20 minute short set in the Great Depression and stars Eduardo Verástegui (Bella), Nick Vujicic (Life Without Limbs) and Doug Jones (Silver Surfer, Pan's Labyrinth). Each film is based on the theme of "Hope" and will undergo a rigorous process of public viewing/voting and finally the judging of film industry professionals.

VOTING INSTRUCTIONS:

IN ORDER TO VOTE, you will have to create an account on The Doorpost website and then WATCH EACH FILM in it's entirety. If you're willing to help, here's a summary of the process:

1. CREATE AN ACCOUNT:

- go to www.thedoorpost.com

-select the "Sign Up" tab on the right. Follow the instructions. FYI, "Display Name" is like a signature and is the name people will see when you leave a comment, etc, so put whatever you want here (ie "filmpro"). "My Door URL" is the last characters of the web address you receive by signing up (http://www.thedoorpost.com /filmpro).

-upload a photo if you want to otherwise select "continue"

-select "Watch Now" below the film's image. OR select "Films" under the search bar at the top and then select "'09 Finalist Films". This will take you to the page where you can access all of the 10 films.

2. WATCH EACH FILM - AUG. 22-SEPT. 16

-LOG IN! A film will only be recorded as "viewed" if you LOG IN before you view it.

-You can either watch one film each day between Aug. 22-31 OR watch as many as you like between September 1-16.

-VIEW (WATCH) EACH FILM. You must watch each film COMPLETELY in order to vote. It's probably best to pace yourself and use the period between now and Sept. 16 to view each film. The reason for the viewing guidelines is to ensure that each film gets fair exposure and doesn't simply benefit from the number of supporters a film manages to garner.

3. VOTE:

-After you view each film in it's entirety, you will be routed to a voting page where you can vote.

-You may want to keep notes of what you liked and disliked about each film since they will probably ask detailed questions about each facet of the film (ie, "on a scale of 1-10, rate the...sound", "music", "cinematography", "acting", "directing", "writing", etc)

Again, we know that supporting us in the voting process is a significant undertaking and we are grateful for your time! However, our goal in making "The Butterfly Circus" goes way beyond prize money or competition. It's a story that we hope will have a profound effect on lives around the globe. It was made for The Doorpost which is an organization that is investing an incredible amount of resources into the careers of filmmakers that they feel will have a positive impact on the world. We decided to enter the project because of this, and it is a tangible opportunity to support those of us who are aiming to use our talents to enrich the world with uplifting visual stories.

Thank you!

The Butterfly Circus Team
